Just return from breakfast downstairs. Opened the letterbox on the way back home. Discovered that my enlistment letter has arrived! OMG, what I have been waiting for and dreaded about. Before opening the letter, I prayed hard that I would be enlisted on the 20th of October as Zixian is enlisting on that day. Imagine not having anyone you know around you. And guys will be guys, opening up extremely slowly with strangers. Slowly, but nervously, I torn open the letter and read the contents. It reads the following.
THE ENLISTMENT ACT, (CHAPTER 930 ENLISTMENT NOTICE (FULL-TIME/OPERATIONALLY READY NATIONAL SERVICE)
1. You are hereby required under Section 10 of the Enlistment Act (Cap 93), to report for enlistment
on 20 OCT 2004 (WED) AT 2.00PM to BASIC MILITARY TRAINING CENTRE SCHOOL 2 (BMTC SCH 2)
I was there, "OMG, I am so lucky. Same day as Zixian." But realised that the time is different after I called him. Never mid that, we will still get to meet up everyday anyway. Well, I guess it's time for me to start to tough up and start to do my jogs and exercises. Zixian told me that he would pass me a list of things, which will be required to be bought for National Service. Beach Road, here I come. My last visit to Beach Road Market was when I was in National Cadet Corp (NCC).
The letter bought some mixed feelings. I am excited to be enlisted, but still, I am quite unwilling to undergo National Service. Looking at Sean gives me the creeps. From a tall and overweight guy, he turned out becoming tall and slim after his BMT. Considering me being so skinny, I might as well become a twig after my BMT.
But still, I am really looking forward to my Enlistment Date. Hopefully, my batch will not consist of any gays or people, who are undesirable. Haiz... When I am enlisted, I guess this blog will turn very silent and dead. Sorry people, it is Singaporean guys' responsibility to serve the Nation Service. No guy can escape it except for medical unfit and gays.
