Was outside with Sandy since 8pm last night to 11.30am this afternoon.
She had a bad tiff with her boyfriend. She called me at 7.30pm and asked if I could meet her at Boat Quay. I agreed to meet her as I sensed that she was not herself. I was worried that she might do something foolish.
When I reached Boat Quay, I tried calling her. My call was diverted to her voicemail, I did not know if she switched off her handphone or something happened to her. I went searching for her around Boat Quay. Finally found her sitting at the edge of Singapore River over at Riverdale Plaza.
She was in a wreak. From a distance, I could tell that she's been crying for some time as there are a lot of tissue on the ground. I walked over and sat at the edge and consoled her. I asked her why she is crying so hard and what happened. She narrated the whole incident to me.
The incident goes... Mike, her boyfriend, was very angry at her for some reasons,which I am not convenient to mention. They quarreled for a long time and her boyfriend just walked away and left her there. She tried catching up with him and explain further, but Mike was too mad to listen. Instead of stopping, he shrugged her off and she fell on the floor. Mike DID NOT STOP and check on Sandy. Instead, he just walked away, not caring for his girlfriend.
This is totally uncalled for. What he did was very ungentlemanly. When I heard this, I felt like approaching Mike's house and bash him up and give him a good lesson on how to treat a lady. But decided against it, in order not to complicate things further, thus making things hard for Sandy.
She was crying the whole time and all I can do is offer her my listening ear and tissue. I felt very useless and helpless. She certainly deserve a better guy than Mike. It hurts to see people, whom you care about, get hurt and yet you could not do anything to lessen the pain.
I consoled her and help as much as I can. We went to the nearby 7-Eleven to purchase cans of beer as she wanted to drink. At least, if she gets drunk, she won't be thinking that much and be this upset. Although we had drank a lot, she still kept on drinking and tried to get herself drunk. I did managed to stop her from drinking after some time but it was too late. She was already in a daze and puking all over the place.
By the time, I cleared everything and clear up the mess, it was 2+ in the night and Sandy was lying on the floor, totally wasted. I sat her up and laid her in a sitting position using the bench nearby. I kept watch of her all night, slipping into slumber myself as time passes.
When I woke up, I found Sandy sleeping on my lap. A slight hangover kicked in, resulting in a headache. I just lay there and reflect on what had happened last night. It was an unfortunate incident. I couldn't forgive Mike for leaving Sandy just like that. No matter how angry he was, he ought to show concern for Sandy when she fell. The scene keep playing in my head. One of these days, I will show him what is the result of hurting my friends.
Sandy woke up at around 8am. She had a hangover as she drank a lot last night. I brought her to the coffee shop nearby for breakfast. Ordered hot Ginger Tea for her to lessen the hangover. Her eyes were very puffy from the crying last night. Had a heart-to-hear chat with her, finding out more about her relationship with Mike.
There are a lot of problems in the relationship. Mike is a possessive, over-sensitive and chauvinistic guy. Most of the time, arguments happen due to his jealousy. Although it was not a nice thing to do, I advised Sandy to just break it clean with him since he is bringing her more misery than joy. I don't know if my advice fell on deaf ears or not as she kept on nodding away and not utter anything.
Realising that it was 10+ in the morning, I told her to call home as her parents might be worried since she did not return home. After taking our breakfast, I see her home and made sure that she was OK before leaving.
